About The Position

This is a Drain Technician role with our residential/commercial plumbing team, focused on drain and sewer line service from first call to final walkthrough. The role involves diagnosing and resolving issues with clogged, slow, or backed-up drains and sewer lines, using tools like cameras and locators to identify the root cause. Technicians will perform snaking, hydro-jetting, and drain clearing, and identify when repairs are needed. Client communication is key, explaining findings, options, and pricing clearly before work begins, and providing honest recommendations. The role also includes documenting diagnostics, camera footage, job notes, and proposals accurately in the CRM system, completing invoices and paperwork same-day, and maintaining truck stock, tools, and equipment. This position is for an independent technician who takes pride in their craft, communicates well, and wants to be trusted with real responsibility.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in drain cleaning, sewer line service, and general plumbing (drain-specific experience preferred).
  • Comfortable operating cameras, locators, snakes, and jetters.
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Physically able to perform the work (crawl spaces, lifting equipment, outdoor conditions).
  • Dependable, punctual, and takes pride in a job done right the first time.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise lies heavily in resolving drain calls.
  • Takes pride in diagnosing the real problem instead of just clearing the clog and moving on.
  • Shows up on time, treats every home like it's their own, and leaves clients feeling like they got more than what they paid for.
  • Takes ownership of every drain job from diagnosis to completion.
  • Comfortable running a truck independently but knows when to loop in a supervisor.
  • Explains processes with confidence and clarity to clients instead of leaving them confused or anxious.
  • Treats camera inspections, hydro-jetting, and snaking as tools for getting it right — not just checking a box.
  • A team player who wants to grow their skills within a company that invests in training.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to service calls for clogged, slow, or backed-up drains and sewer lines.
  • Uses cameras and locators to accurately diagnose root cause (roots, collapse, grease, bellies, etc.).

  • Identifies when a repair (vs. a clear) is needed and clearly communicates that to the client.
  • Explains findings, options, and pricing in plain language before starting work.
  • Provides honest and lasting recommendations — not upselling for the sake of it.
  • Leaves the work area clean and the client confident in the work performed.
  • Documents diagnostics, camera footage, job notes and proposals accurately in the CRM system.
  • Accurately completes invoices, photos, and paperwork same-day.
  • Communicates follow-up needs to dispatch or supervisors (parts, permits, callbacks, etc.).
  • Maintains truck stock, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Reports equipment issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Follows safety protocols on every job site.
