About The Position

Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI) builds individually customized, direct-indexing, separately managed account (SMA) portfolios for clients of Financial Advisors. Leveraging decades of indexing and trading expertise, VPI provides unrivaled, daily transparency into the tax management, performance, and ESG/religious values of each account, enabling advisors to improve the investment experience and outcome for the clients they serve. This role will be a key contributor for the strategy and development of Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI). This VPI expert will have both client facing and project management responsibilities, supporting the VPI Distribution team with client engagements, sales strategy and project management. The individual will have the opportunity to influence both clients considering VPI and the strategy of the VPI Distribution organization, deepen relationships between the VPI organization and partners in Sales across FAS, assist in the creation of client development strategies, work hand-in-hand with senior leaders and sales executives across Advisor Solutions, VPI, and the FAS Sales Channels, and build strong internal relationships, liaising with Sales, Client Service, Marketing, and Product teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years in Direct indexing / Personalized Indexing, SMA, and Sales/Relationship Management preferred.
  • Knowledge of Barra, Fact Set and quantitative finance experience a plus
  • Basic proficiency in data analysis and data-base decision-making
  • Graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • In close partnership with Sales, pursue and win new client opportunities with prospective VPI clients.
  • Exhibit deep investment acumen, be an expert on direct/personalized indexing.
  • Help the VPI team improve our approach and methodology to meet client demand.
  • Work closely with other client facing teams (e.g., Sales, Client Service, RM’s), and Portfolio Management to deliver an exceptional experience to clients throughout their Personalized Indexing journey with Vanguard.
  • Provide guidance, support, or coaching to other FAS Sales crew interacting with large or complex VPI clients or prospects.
  • Drive changes to processes and services to meet evolving client needs and expectations.
  • Partner with marketing to help develop VPI materials for clients.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and due diligence questions from prospective VPI clients.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of direct indexing/personalized indexing competitive landscape.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
