About The Position

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving B2B sales of metal machining capabilities and products through effective lead development, accurate quoting, and strong customer support. This role combines technical understanding with commercial execution to deliver high quality‑machining solutions that meet customer requirements and support territory growth.

Requirements

  • Technical degree/diploma or equivalent experience in industrial or technical sales.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing and machining experience.
  • Ability to assess customer requirements and develop accurate, detailed quotations that provide feasible and competitive solutions.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading (GD&T), and manufacturing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with 3D model software is an asset.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Frequent, regular travel required (within southern Ontario)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, customer aligned‑ quotations based on part specifications, material types, surface preparation and finish needs, masking requirements, labor, and batch sizes.
  • Increase machined metal capabilities and product sales through targeted outreach to manufacturers, metal fabricators, and industrial clients; generate leads and expand territory presence.
  • Conduct onsite assessments to define product and finish requirements, understand performance expectations, and provide technical guidance on feasibility of design for manufacturability, finish processes, product types and sizes, etc.
  • Partner with production teams to ensure quality standards for metal finishes and products.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data (Salesforce, HubSpot, Campfire) to track opportunities, follow-ups, and repeat business; drive strong customer retention through responsive communication.
  • Advise customers on machining best practices, materials selection, and finishing options to ensure optimal results.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly to protect relationships and encourage repeat orders.
