About The Position

F. J. Nugent & Associates Inc. is a full service Manufacturer’s Representative organization serving the water and wastewater industry. Started in 1996, by Fred Nugent, our firm was founded on the belief that superior customer service and high quality products produce satisfied customers. We offer our clients and principals a wide range of product knowledge and industry contacts. Our combined product knowledge ranges from pumps and valves to hazardous waste and wastewater process equipment. F.J. Nugent & Associates Inc. represents a variety of pumps, including submersible sewage and positive displacement pumps, lime slaking equipment, odor control equipment and also remote monitoring and level control equipment. Currently we are seeking a Sales Account Manager to cover our Tampa Bay territory. This position will manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success by generating new sales with existing and new accounts. The Sales Account Manager will strive to satisfy the customers’ needs through a timely and positive response, growing the relationship through a positive experience. Ultimately, you should be able to grow our business by building long term successful relationships. You will be the intermediary between municipal customers, outside engineering firms, contractors, vendors and Nugent personnel. The Sales Account Manager is expected to communicate the needs of the customer to Nugent’s management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electro/Mechanical Engineering and/or Technical Sales experience of 5 years.
  • Proven Sales/Marketing/Applications experience preferred.
  • Understanding sales performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of centrifugal pumps preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls/VFD’s and their application preferred
  • Ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency and care, to customer requests, inquiries, and problems.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Project management.
  • Strong skills using desktop applications (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.).
  • Accountable, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
  • Business and growth oriented.
  • Some experience in technical product sales or business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Tampa Bay municipal accounts to achieve long-term success.
  • Present technical equipment proposals and quotations for bid projects and customer inquiries.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers.
  • Manage pump and equipment order process from initial inquiry to startup.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.
  • Report to Nugent management, the status of accounts and potential projects.
  • Track sales and monitor against Nugent projections.
