Sales Account Manager

Bandwidth•Raleigh, NC

About The Position

Bandwidth is seeking a Sales Account Manager to manage an established book of approximately 350 SMB customers representing roughly $8 million in annual recurring revenue. The role combines retaining and protecting existing customer revenue with identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships, move smaller accounts upmarket, and win additional traffic currently sent to competitors. Success is measured against the performance of the assigned book, making effective account prioritization central to the role. The Sales Account Manager serves as the primary contact for assigned accounts, uses account data to identify growth opportunities and risks, and builds relationships with customer stakeholders. The role involves understanding customers’ communications needs across voice, phone numbers, E911, and messaging, then matching them with relevant Bandwidth products. The manager also maintains accurate pipeline forecasts and Salesforce records, partners internally to resolve customer issues and advance deals, and works toward a quota measured against total book revenue.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of closing or BDR experience with a track record of hitting targets.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume book of business without neglecting important accounts.
  • Comfort using data to prioritize time and build a case for customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical products simply.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SaaS, CPaaS, telecom, or UCaaS sales.
  • Familiarity with voice and messaging concepts such as SIP trunking, number porting, 10DLC, or E911.
  • Experience with Salesforce and BI tools such as Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Own an existing book of approximately 350 SMB accounts, worth roughly $8 million in ARR, as the primary point of contact.
  • Use account data, including spend trends, product mix, and usage volume, to prioritize accounts and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Retain existing spend, identify customer risk early, and expand revenue across the assigned book.
  • Move customers upmarket through product expansion and by winning a larger share of wallet from customers using multiple providers.
  • Build relationships with multiple contacts at key accounts, including technical stakeholders and business decision-makers.
  • Understand customer communications needs across voice, phone numbers, E911, and messaging; identify appropriate upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast, and keep account records in Salesforce clean.
  • Work with internal partners to resolve customer issues and advance deals.
  • Achieve an assigned quota measured against the total revenue of the book.

Benefits

  • 100% company-paid medical, vision, and dental coverage for employees and their families, with low deductibles and low out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Four weeks of PTO for all new hires.
  • PTO embargo that prevents employees and managers from interrupting employees during time off, including by email.
  • Additional PTO can be earned through volunteer hours and Bandwidth challenges.
  • Mahalo moments program provides additional time off for important life events.
  • 90-minute workout lunches.
  • Unlimited meetings with the company nutritionist.
