About The Position

As an Insurance Producer, you will work as a trusted advisor to local businesses, helping them find the right insurance policies to protect their companies and employees. In this role, you will focus on building relationships, finding new clients, and matching them with the best coverage from our network of insurance carriers. You will have the support of an established brand and a dedicated service team, allowing you to focus on growing your business and hitting your sales goals.

Requirements

  • A proven ability to network, find new leads, and comfortably guide business clients through the sales process.
  • A solid understanding of Commercial Lines or Employee Benefits policies, coverage options, and basic underwriting rules.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex insurance terms in simple language to clients and team members.
  • Good organizational skills to balance prospecting for new business while staying on top of upcoming policy renewals.
  • At least three (3) years of successful insurance sales experience specifically focused on Commercial Lines or Employee Benefits.
  • An active New York State Property & Casualty (P&C) Broker’s license or Life, Accident & Health license is required.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Applied Epic agency management system.
  • A valid New York State driver’s license for traveling to local client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on winning new business clients while keeping your current clients happy and retained.
  • Proactively prospect, network, and follow up on leads to keep a steady flow of potential clients coming in.
  • Gather business information, figure out what risks they face, and put together the right insurance packages for them.
  • Create and deliver clear insurance quotes and options to business owners and decision-makers.
  • Work closely with clients during their yearly renewals to ensure they stay with our agency.
  • Look for opportunities to refer clients to other helpful services offered by Ulster Insurance and Ulster Savings Bank.
  • Collaborate with our account managers and internal staff to solve client issues and keep things running smoothly.
  • Attend local business networking events to build connections and grow the agency’s presence.
  • Follow all standard state insurance rules, agency guidelines, and carrier requirements.
  • Handle other day-to-day sales and agency tasks as requested by management.
