About The Position

The Salad/Prep Cook is responsible for production of salads and sandwiches, including preparation of sandwiches, salads, and desserts for students and faculty. The role includes cleaning before, during, and after service, as well as supporting kitchen cleaning during and at the end of the shift. The cook may also assist with putting away orders. This is a hands-on front- and back-of-house position serving as a first impression for students and faculty. It requires accurate speed, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The position is based in Danvers, Massachusetts, is full-time, and is scheduled from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The hourly rate is $22.00–$25.00, with weekly pay by direct deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in a similar deli position.
Dependable, neat, clean, and professional.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals, including made-to-order deli and salad items and catering orders as needed.
Chop and slice meats, cheese, and vegetables; cook and prepare sandwiches, salads, and grab-and-go items.
Prepare the lunch and dinner station according to company guidelines.
Stock stations with all items necessary for service.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
Ensure customers are taken care of and the department remains clean and presentable.
Provide attentive, approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
Support culinary staff at multiple stations as directed.
Follow and promote company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
Clean the kitchen before, during, and after service, including at the end of the shift.
Assist with putting away orders as needed.
