About The Position

The Salad/Prep Cook is responsible for producing salads and sandwiches, preparing food for students and faculty, and cleaning before, during, and after service. The role includes preparing sandwiches, salads, desserts, made-to-order deli and salad items, and catering orders as needed. The cook may also help put away orders and support culinary staff at other stations as directed. This hands-on front- and back-of-house position requires speed, accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service, while serving as a first point of contact for students and faculty.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to three years of experience in a similar deli position.
Dependable, neat, clean, and professional.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals, including made-to-order deli and salad items and catering orders as needed.
Chop and slice meats, cheese, and vegetables; cook foods; and prepare sandwiches and grab-and-go items.
Prepare lunch and dinner stations according to company guidelines and stock them with the items needed for service.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
Ensure customers are cared for and the department remains clean and presentable.
Provide attentive, approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
Assist culinary staff at other stations as directed.
Clean the kitchen during and at the end of the shift and help put away orders as needed.
Follow and promote company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
