About The Position

Summerhill Market is a Toronto boutique grocer known for scratch-made prepared foods, freshly baked treats, and on-trend ingredients. Their Commissary Kitchen is the heart of their prepared foods operation, producing fresh meals, salads, soups, sandwiches, and specialty products. They are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Salad Maker to join their production team.

Requirements

Previous kitchen prep, food production, salad, catering, or commissary experience is an asset
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality standards
Food Handler Certification is considered an asset
Flexible availability including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift and carry products and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

Prepare fresh salads and specialty prepared foods according to recipes and production standards
Wash, chop, portion, and prepare vegetables, fruits, proteins, and other ingredients
Accurately measure ingredients and follow recipes to ensure consistency and quality
Package, label, and date products according to company standards
Maintain production schedules and complete daily prep requirements
Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation standards
Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of ingredients and finished products
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures
Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking inventory as required
Support other kitchen production activities as needed
