About The Position
Paddle Boston is seeking a dynamic and engaging Sailing Instructor for their Spot Pond location. This role involves teaching sailing fundamentals to diverse groups of kids and adults using a fleet of Cape Cod Mercury 14 sailboats and one RS Cat. The instructor will create a fun, safe, and engaging environment. Beyond the summer season, there are potential year-round employment opportunities with Weston Ski Track and Community Skating @ Kendall Square.
Requirements
- Solid sailing experience
- Some weekend availability
- A friendly, outgoing, dynamic, and engaging personality.
- Reliability and communication are a must for scheduled lessons.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with kids
- Background in other paddle sports (kayaking, canoeing)
- Instructor certifications
- CPR/First Aid
- MA Boating Safety Course (or NASBLA Certificate)
Responsibilities
- Teaching diverse groups of kids and adults the fundamentals of sailing.
- Leading instruction in our fleet of Cape Cod Mercury 14 sailboats, as well as one RS Cat.
- Creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for all our visitors.
