About The Position

This role will support airlines by assisting in the development and maintenance of a proactive safety culture throughout the station, resulting in a safe environment for all employees, aircraft, and equipment. This position will report to the Vice President, Safety, Security and Training.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Must possess at least a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to obtain airport security clearance which includes an extensive check of your last 5 years of employment, criminal record, and residence history.
  • Three years progressive management experience and related work experience with safety programs.
  • Must have a valid passport or the ability to receive it within a short time after offer.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as demonstrated in training presentations, written manuals, and accident investigations.
  • Knowledge of all applicable Federal / State OSHA, Transport Canada, CATSA, FAA, Labor Canada & WCB Regulations.
  • Previous experience or related work experience with safety programs.

  • Possess math aptitude and analytical skills and the ability to analyze trends in accidents and injuries.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficient in use of personal computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures training is performed consistently and is conducive to learning.
  • Performs internal safety audit at stations.
  • Conducts incident investigations and establishes “probable cause”, “contributing factors” and “corrective action” to be implemented.
  • Develops recommendations for policies and procedures manuals.
  • Ensures station compliance with established company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable Regulatory health and safety agencies.
  • Reviews station safety committee minutes and responds accordingly.
  • Performs statistical reporting and trend analysis at station level.
  • Performs ad hoc station training as needed.
  • Performs Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) in conjunction with local stations.
  • Maintains information on all claims (injury and liability).
  • Represents AGI in a professional manner in industry and airline meetings and committees.
