About The Position

This role is responsible for managing and executing comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires and supervisors, overseeing driver training, administering safety systems (SMS360 and 3rd Eye), conducting facility inspections, leading safety meetings, managing incident response, and providing operational backup for supervisors. The position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working in a dynamic operational environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, waste, logistics, or field operations
  • Prior experience in safety, training, or compliance roles strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and DOT compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with digital systems; ability to learn and manage SMS360 and 3rd Eye platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and occasional weekends
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-directed; drives results without constant oversight

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage the complete onboarding process for all new hires from offer acceptance through 90-day integration, including pre-employment requirements and orientation.
  • Manage and continuously improve the Driver Trainer Program, including selection, certification, coaching of trainers, and ensuring behind-the-wheel training completion.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the SMS360 system, ensuring training assignments are completed and compliance reports are generated.
  • Manage the 3rd Eye in-cab camera and telematics system, reviewing flagged events, coaching alerts, and coordinating driver coaching.
  • Conduct regular scheduled and unannounced facility inspections, documenting findings, issuing corrective actions, and tracking completion.
  • Design and lead weekly safety meetings, developing a safety topic calendar and providing materials to supervisors.
  • Lead the incident response process for all injuries, accidents, and near-misses, conducting root cause investigations and completing required documentation.
  • Serve as operational backup for supervisors during planned and unplanned absences, coordinating coverage and ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Design, own, and execute a structured 30-60-90 Day Onboarding Plan for all newly promoted or hired supervisors, covering core competencies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and training histories within safety platforms.
  • Track incident trends and present monthly summaries to the GM.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 log and ensure regulatory compliance.
