Trains and coaches team members on safety requirements and best practices. Conducts safety training for new hire orientation, on-the-job training, monthly safety meetings, and specialized safety topics. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to learn and apply company policies
  • Ability to understand and implement schedules and product flow
  • Basic understanding of safety and health programs and how they are administered
  • Good learning agility
  • Organization, time-management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve routine problems using established standards
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy in data
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting (i.e., Microsoft Suites)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all new hires understand required work safety instructions before assignment to the job.
  • Assists with hazard assessments to include Ergonomic Worksite Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, PPE Hazard Assessments, LOTO Procedures, Accident/Incident investigations and Safety Inspections.
  • Maintains all safety files and records in accordance with standards set by local, state, and federal laws and regulations to include OSHA and all auditing entities.
  • Ensures new hires follow all ergonomic program requirements including ramp in, rotation, early intervention, comfort surveys and proper job methods.
  • Translates documentation and communications (i.e., write ups, trainings, etc.).
  • Monitors on the job safety performance following ramp in program.
  • Escalates concerns.
  • Ensures all new hire exercises are performed.
  • Ensures all training and testing materials are available.
  • Facilitates PIT (hand jack and forklift) training and testing.
  • Provides administrative and tactical support for the safety team.
