About The Position

Directs, coordinates and exercises functional safety authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of construction projects within area of assigned responsibility.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Field Safety and/or Industrial Safety
Degree / COSS / CSP / CSST
Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses
Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram, fit test if applicable)
Must hold a valid Driver’s License to operate company equipment and/or vehicles
The individual who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Perform and complete job safety plans and job safety analysis.
Perform, coordinate and implement safety activities and initiatives at project sites and evaluate and control environmental hazards.
Provide hands-on approach to assessing, developing, improving and implementing safety programs and systems.
Conduct safety specific orientation for all new hires.
Conduct site inspections. Assist in maintaining records for reporting and certification purposes.
Verify and document compliance along with the status of such items as required certifications, drug-testing program and safety manual.
Investigate and assist if filing out reporting documentation of all accidents, injuries and near misses on the project site and notify appropriate personnel, and case management of associated claims.
Post documentation and forms at each project site regarding safety signage, workers comp, in case of emergency posters, etc.
Equipment Safety - Conduct regular inspections to include preventative maintenance on project site equipment.
Perform or assist in training employees on safety requirements to ensure compliance to company safety rules and procedures.
Duties may include light administration and assistance to Project Superintendent.
