About The Position

As a Safety Technician for a utility-scale solar electrical subcontractor, you will support the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. You will work closely with the Safety Manager and other team members to promote a culture of safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a safety technician or in a similar role, preferably in solar or electrical construction.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards applicable to construction sites.
• Strong observational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to conduct thorough investigations and write detailed reports.
• Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30 and OSHA 510; additional certifications in safety management are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
• Assist in the investigation and documentation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Provide safety training and orientation for new hires and ongoing training for existing employees.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety gear.
• Maintain detailed records of safety activities, including inspection reports, training logs, and incident reports.
• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency action plans.
• Work closely with the Safety Manager, project managers, and site supervisors to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
