About The Position

We are looking for a Safety Technician that will be proactive, staying ahead of operations on safety and environmental hazards. This is a great opportunity to assist with HSE related activities and to train on safety topics such as regulatory requirements and Rio Tinto Lithium policies. Reporting to the Senior Safety Engineer and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Health, Safety & Environmental team, you will be assisting with safety culture change efforts, interpreting site Safety & Health programs and procedures and assisting with compliance, assisting with incident investigations and identifying root causes, assisting with Risk Ranking, participating in the Safety Committee Meetings and planned functions, and assisting with/tech employees and Rio Tinto Lithium project teams with proper completion of HSE required permits.

Requirements

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• HS Diploma or GED required
• Three (3) years’ experience in Health, Safety & Environmental
• Good understanding of general industry safety regulations
• An understanding of Risk Assessment processes
• Experience with conducting HSE training
