About The Position

Bengal Crane & Transportation (BCR Division) is seeking a Safety Technician for a full-time, permanent role supporting daily safety operations across crane, rigging, and transportation projects. This field-first position involves working directly with crews and client sites to identify hazards, enforce compliance, and ensure safe execution of work in high-risk environments. The role requires comfort in the field, not behind a desk, and is critical to maintaining a zero-incident culture for major petrochemical and industrial clients across the Gulf Coast.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years safety experience in Industrial / Petrochemical, Construction, Crane / Rigging, or Heavy haul / transportation
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards (1910 / 1926)
  • Strong communication skills (field-facing role)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Valid Driver's License (MVR required – Light Truck)
  • Must pass drug screen, background check, and DISA
  • OSHA Certification
  • Security Passport
  • TWIC strongly preferred (based on site list)

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site safety support during crane lifts, rigging operations, and heavy haul/transport activities.
  • Identify hazards and enforce company and client safety standards.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Conduct jobsite audits, walkdowns, and safety observations.
  • Review and support JSAs (Job Safety Analyses), pre-task plans, and lift plans.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Issue and verify permits for Confined Space, Hot Work, Lockout/Tagout, and Fall Protection.
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Support new hire safety orientation.
  • Communicate directly with operators, drivers, riggers, and client safety teams.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage.
  • Document findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety logs and documentation.
  • Assist with fleet compliance, including equipment inspections and safety documentation.
