About The Position

The Safety Technician executes the site safety program on an assigned project. The role educates and trains Austin project staff in safety requirements and incident-prevention best practices, and ensures compliance with company and customer safety policies. Most of the position’s time is spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners. The Safety Technician also helps project supervision resolve field safety issues and fills in for the site HSE manager during absences. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
No minimum education requirements.

Responsibilities

Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
Assist with staff safety training and subcontractor development.
Represent the company positively and professionally with customers and subcontractors.
Create and facilitate safety trainings and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules.
Participate in safety organizations outside the company and in the assigned region.
Ensure compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies, and expectations.
Observe work in the field, coach, audit, and engage craft employee-owners.
Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field.
Fill in for the site HSE manager during absences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
