About The Position

Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation and failure analysis for next generation consumer electronic products within the Apple Vision Product Design team. Deliver high quality Abaqus / LS-DYNA models for large-deformation, explicit simulations. including meshed assemblies, material selection, and CAD checks. Work with vendors and cross functional teams within Apple to develop FEM methods, including automated meshing and material model development. Assess product against internal specifications and external standards, speaking to accuracy and confidence of simulation results. Offer insight into hypothesis-driven Design of Experiments to optimize product performance, including multi-variate optimization and tool strengths/ limitations. Improve processes by reducing turn-time from FEM request to data delivery by creating automated meshing scripts and SOPs. Expand current scope of FEM support, by building methods to assess comfort performance of wearable devices.
