About The Position

This role involves performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on safety analytical tools and assisting with the review, updating, and development of safety resource materials. The position contributes to the VDOT safety data systems and loss records by ensuring completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with reporting requirements. It also involves maintaining and submitting various safety guidance documents and educational materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
  • Ability to maintain and work with confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to research, organize and write reports, conduct analysis, and prepare and conduct briefings.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health and associated state and federal regulations.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft products including but not limited to SharePoint Online and MS Power Platform (Power Bi, Power Apps, and Power Automate).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences, make presentations and conduct meetings.
  • Ability to interpret and apply codes, laws, standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, management and the public.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations regarding workplace safety.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, industrial hygiene fundamentals, and safety equipment.
  • Skilled in the use of computers and software applications.

  • Ability to compile large and complex data sets into easy to understand summarizations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administrative and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) support for VDOT safety data systems and loss records by reviewing information for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Identify data discrepancies, issues audit findings and required corrections, and provide guidance to districts to maintain data integrity and consistent reporting.
  • Assist with reviewing, auditing, updating, developing, maintaining and submitting various safety guidance documents, educational materials, safety-related publications, bulletins and reports.
