Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3–7 years of experience in safety management, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and machine guarding standards.
  • Ability to influence employees at all levels, from shop floor workers to senior management, to adopt safe behaviors.
  • Ability to analyze safety data trends to proactively address risks.
  • Ability to stop unsafe production activities immediately when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards (particularly General Industry regulations 29 CFR 1910) and ensure the plant meets all requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, facility inspections, and hazard risk assessments to identify and eliminate potential hazards related to manufacturing machinery, chemical handling, and material handling.
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety training for new hires (orientation) and existing staff, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency action plans.
  • Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and OSHA 300 logs.
