Hallcon is seeking a leader to join their team and contribute to rapid growth. The Transportation Safety Supervisor is responsible for fostering a safety culture, ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, client, and company requirements. This role involves overseeing daily safety activities, driver training and coaching, regulatory compliance, and accident prevention. The supervisor will collaborate with Operations leadership to enhance safety performance, mitigate risk, and ensure drivers are well-equipped for safe and professional operations. This position acts as a primary resource for field leadership and drivers on transportation safety and regulatory matters. The role can be based in San Jose, South San Francisco, Burlingame, or Fremont within the San Francisco Bay area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in passenger transportation, fleet operations, safety, compliance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory, lead, or transportation safety experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends to drive safety improvements.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as operational needs require.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and reinforce a Behavioral Based Safety culture focused on reducing accidents, injuries, and safety-related incidents.
  • Supervise daily safety and compliance activities across assigned operations.
  • Ensure driver qualification files, licensing records, medical certifications, and compliance documentation are maintained in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety concerns, identify root causes, and recommend preventative measures.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports, trend analyses, and recommendations for operational leadership.
  • Administer onboard safety technology programs, including DriveCam, Samsara, SmartDrive, and other monitoring systems.
  • Review safety events and partner with Operations leadership to provide coaching and corrective action when necessary.
  • Deliver and coordinate driver training, safety meetings, new hire orientation, and ongoing compliance education.
  • Conduct driver evaluations, road tests, and behind-the-wheel assessments.
  • Support internal, client, DOT, and regulatory audits.
  • Partner with Operations Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure consistent application of safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs, initiatives, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to field leaders regarding transportation safety, compliance, and accident prevention.
