About The Position

STRUCTURAL integrates technology-driven solutions with specialty contracting services to improve, protect, and enhance the existing infrastructure of owners directly, and in partnership with designers and contractors. STRUCTURAL offers a wide range of specialty repair and maintenance services and is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States, with roughly 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets. STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group. STRUCTURAL’s Nuclear Division has a mission to extend the service life of the nation’s largest source of clean, carbon-free energy. Our team features a multitude of positions in various geographic regions collaborating effectively through travel, video conferences, and collocating on project sites. The Nuclear Division has responsibility for all 50 states. Our Nuclear Division is recognized as an industry leader in developing technical and innovative repair solutions for both safety-related and non-safety-related projects under both our own and our partners NQA-1 Appendix B programs. We focus on all manner of significant infrastructure in the nuclear fleet including large hyperbolic cooling towers, underwater intake structures, and even the reactor containment building. We are currently seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee safety protocols for our projects. Key responsibilities include conducting safety meetings, identifying potential risks, and implementing necessary safety measures. This role entails providing safety education, developing work plans, and scrutinizing safety plans from external partners to ensure project safety. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a safety manager, coordinator, or trainer is required, demonstrating a solid foundation in safety management.
  • A comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations is essential, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
  • The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective measures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to convey safety information clearly and facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Possession of OSHA 30 certification is required

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates must exhibit strong leadership skills, enabling them to effectively train and mentor others within the team.
  • OSHA 500 is preferred
  • CSST Certification preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and engage with a diverse workforce.
