Your expertise will help secure the Automated People Mover system, connecting communities and supporting sustainable mobility across the city. You'll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, operations, and design — solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility. As Safety Specialist, you will drive operational excellence and safety culture in every aspect of the Automated People Mover system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Transportation, or equivalent experience.
- Experience or understanding of rail transit, Automated People Mover systems, or regulated environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessments and safety analyses.
- Ability to develop and enforce SOPs in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Proven communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to build trust-based relationships and empower teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and oversight of Public Transit Agency Safety Plan requirements for APM operations.
- Develop, implement, and enforce Roadway Worker Protection programs, including training and compliance monitoring.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures aligned with regulatory and operational safety needs.
- Provide field safety oversight for operations, maintenance, and contractor activities to ensure safe execution.
- Support and lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
