Safety Specialist | Austin, TX
About The Position
HazTek is looking for an experienced Safety Specialist near Austin, TX. This role will help support specific project needs and ensure that best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and an improved safety culture and performance is delivered. The Safety Specialist will oversee all aspects of a complex electrical structures and construction project, ensuring OSHA compliance. They will also attend safety department and management meetings, training workshops, and daily activity briefings. A key responsibility is ensuring a process is established that verifies the qualifications, training, and PPE of personnel performing the work.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of direct safety experience in electrical construction required
- NFPA 70e certification required
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certified
- Experience working a data center build, or similar environment
- Experience driving assurance around energy isolation and contractor lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in a safety related field preferred
- Proven ability to interact with teams and implement improvements
