About The Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Safety Specialist with gas transmission experience to join our team. This role is 100% travel, daily truck pay, and per diem is offered. As a leader in the gas transmission industry, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and the communities we serve. The ideal candidate will have expertise in gas transmission pipeline safety and a strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas transmission pipeline safety.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g. OSHA, PHMSA).
Strong understanding of gas transmission operations and equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to travel extensively and work in various locations.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with emergency response and incident investigation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of gas transmission pipelines, facilities, and equipment.
Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address safety issues.
Monitor and track safety performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
Stay current on industry best practices and regulations related to gas transmission safety.
Develop emergency response plans and participate in emergency drills and exercises.
Travel extensively to various gas transmission sites in Georgia and Kentucky.
