About The Position

HazTek is hiring a Safety Specialist in Irving, TX to support a remodeling project consisting of demolition and HVACs installation. This role is for an individual passionate about making an impact, driving compliance, and building a proactive safety culture.

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience required
OSHA 30 in Construction and First Aid/CPR required
Prior experience with small and large scale demolition required
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards
Must have experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
Excellent verbal and written skills

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the project ensuring OSHA compliance
Review and approve contractor Safety Plans and ensure alignment with project and site EHS requirements
Deliver pre-construction safety workshops and establish clear safety expectations with contractors and the project team
Conduct and coordinate EHS audits, inspections, and joint safety walkdowns
Review heavy-lift plans, particularly activities with potential impacts to ongoing operations
Facilitate the pre-start-up safety review (PSSR) by area/process/equipment
Participate in project closeout reviews and provide the E&PS or applicable functional/construction safety leadership with insights regarding project safety performance
Ensure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE)
Daily safety audits and inspections
Inspect power tools and heavy equipment
