About The Position

The Safety Operations Specialist is a versatile professional responsible for supporting safety operations, compliance activities, and strategic initiatives across the organization. This role oversees workers' compensation administration and other safety-related processes while serving as a key resource for special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and capable of balancing day-to-day operational responsibilities with project-based work that supports the organization's safety and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must have a exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Must have project coordination and management experience.
  • Must have exceptional time management, easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines, prioritizing, and multitasking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Learn and maintain working knowledge of policies, procedures, and systems necessary for this role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook applications.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of workers' compensation claims administration, including claim reporting, communication with insurance carriers and third-party administrators, documentation management, and claim status tracking.
  • Coordinate return-to-work and modified-duty programs to facilitate safe and timely team member reintegration following workplace injuries.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance programs, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs, injury and illness recordkeeping, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with workplace incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain safety metrics, reports, dashboards, and compliance records.
  • Support operations teams in the development, review, and continuous improvement of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and safe work procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits of safety documentation, records, and compliance processes.
  • Assist in the coordination and administration of safety training programs and team member communications.
  • Support departmental and cross-functional special projects, process improvement efforts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain confidential team member, medical, and claim-related information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support organizational objectives.
