About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring safety within operations, potentially involving training, field operations, and leadership in safety-focused initiatives. The specialist will utilize software skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and analytical capabilities to promote a safe working environment and achieve operational goals. They will also be involved in data analysis, problem-solving, and potentially contribute to FedEx Operations' safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months experience required in instructor-led training, field operations or related area.
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
  • Ability to build effective relationships built on trust, respect and collaboration.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Ability to develop effective methods for data analysis and interpret results.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a Safety focused leadership role preferred.
  • ASSP, NSC, OSHA Training Institute, or Accredited College Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to FedEx Operations preferred.
