About The Position

Oishii is seeking a Safety Operations Associate to support its Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs. This role involves hands-on field work, daily safety inspections, hazard mitigation, engineering controls, corrective actions, and continuous safety improvements across the facility. The position requires a proactive individual comfortable with tools, installing and maintaining safety equipment, implementing physical safety improvements, performing inspections, and taking ownership of daily safety initiatives. Success requires versatility, initiative, and a willingness to identify and eliminate hazards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, facilities, or maintenance preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with basic hand/power tool skills.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety principles (OSHA 10/30 a plus).
  • Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms) for documentation and tracking.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive with strong ownership and communication skills.
  • Able to perform hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to perform physical demands including lifting up to 30 lbs, climbing ladders, crouching, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and working safely in active operational environments.
  • Must not be allergic to bees.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/trade school a plus.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or controlled environment agriculture a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on safety tasks, including installing safety signs, floor markings, protective padding, barriers, cable protection, and emergency equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement practical corrective actions, including minor repairs, installing engineering controls, and supporting physical modifications.
  • Install, inspect, organize, maintain, and relocate safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid stations, spill kits, and eyewash stations.
  • Conduct routine inspections throughout all operational areas to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and contractors on safety projects, equipment installations, and work area improvements.
  • Respond to workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses, and assist the EHS Manager with investigations, evidence collection, documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support emergency preparedness by maintaining emergency equipment, assisting with drills, and verifying evacuation routes.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, safety checklists, corrective action logs, and equipment inventories.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and organization through proactive observation and hands-on execution.
