Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for qualified Safety Observers in Georgia. The Safety Observer will be part of Leidos' Power Delivery Services division, which provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide utility clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, distribution & substation projects. The Safety Observer will be responsible for Safety Crew Observations as well as completing the safety Observation Form, documenting any safety concerns of the crew members, proper PPE, work zone setup, equipment and tool conditions, and other similar safety observations. The Safety Observer will also be responsible for transmitting their completed Safety Observation Forms to the Safety Data Analyst, tracking their work hours, mileage and reimbursable costs. The Safety Observer will be expected to perform site visits to perform observations of distribution line crews, their processes and adherence to safety rules. Further, Safety Observers will coach and correct, in real time, any lineworker, apprentice or line crew member on enhanced safety performance and one-on-one safety guidance. The Safety Observers will report to the Leidos Safety Manager.
