Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of environmental health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and company policies. Plans, implements, and manages programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization. Manages and coordinates safety activities, through subordinate supervisory personnel, to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization. Conducts or appoints others to provide safety training, identify hazards, etc. Conducts routine safety inspections, analyzes high hazard areas and makes recommendations for elimination and control of hazards Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA, prepares necessary reports and maintains compliance records Responds to all OSHA and EPA citations or violations Performs and/or assists workplace evaluations reviews, accident investigations and coordinates with insurance carriers for workers compensation, property and auto Assists risk management in preparing the safety portion of the pre-qualification documents Provides oversight and implementation of hazardous waste removal.
