About The Position

The Safety Manager ensures that all Haydon job sites remain focused on completing projects in a safe manner. This role involves previewing projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety-related risks, attending kick-off meetings, and educating operations teams on lessons learned from similar projects to mitigate future incidents. The Safety Manager will visit active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions and ensure compliance with established safety policies. They will collaborate with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety-related issues. The position requires conducting routine safety audits (bi-weekly reviews), carrying out regular safety training programs for employees, and investigating accidents to determine causes and develop lessons learned. Additionally, the Safety Manager will inspect and monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to safety policies and laws, audit incidents and safety inspections for timely closure, and audit equipment inspection reports for prompt repairs. Maintaining safety-related reports within the appropriate technology platform and addressing employees and trade partners who fail to comply with minimum safety standards are key responsibilities. The role also includes managing the Haydon Craft Safety Voice (HCSV) committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safety programs.
  • Thorough understanding of construction execution and risk.
  • Self-starting and disciplined in managing deliverables.
  • Working with minimal supervision.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Drives on behalf of the company.
  • Candidates must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

  • Address employees and trade partners who fail to comply with minimum safety standards
  • Manage the Haydon Craft Safety Voice (HCSV) committee
