About The Position

The Safety Manager ensures that all Haydon job sites remain focused on completing projects in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safety programs.
  • Thorough understanding of construction execution and risk.
  • Self-starting and disciplined in managing deliverables.
  • Working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks and attend kick-off meeting
  • Educate operations teams on lessons learned in similar project type to mitigate future incidents
  • Visit active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance with established safety policies
  • Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites
  • Conduct routine safety audits as at when due (bi-weekly reviews)
  • Carry out safety training programs for company employees on regular basis
  • Investigate accidents to find out their causes and develop lessons learned
  • Inspect and/or monitor the daily operations of employees to make sure they follow safety policies and laws
  • Audit incidents and safety inspections to assure all items are closed in a timely manner
  • Audit equipment inspection reports to ensure that they are repaired timely for employee safety
  • Maintain safety related reports within the appropriate technology platform
  • Address employees and trade partners who fail to comply with minimum safety standards
  • Manage the Haydon Craft Safety Voice (HCSV) committee
