About The Position

Join a mechanical contractor supporting construction activities on the North Market Tower project in downtown Columbus, OH. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety operations for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system installations while supporting a major commercial construction project. The selected candidate will work closely with field supervision and craft personnel to ensure safe execution of mechanical construction activities while helping maintain a strong safety culture throughout the project.

Requirements

  • OSHA 510 Certification
  • 3+ years of construction safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of HVAC Installation Activities
  • Working knowledge of Plumbing Construction Operations
  • Working knowledge of Fire Protection System Installation
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work Activities
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
  • Working knowledge of Hot Work Activities
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Working knowledge of Commercial High-Rise Construction Safety

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installation activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training as needed
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Monitor material handling activities, elevated work, and contractor safety compliance
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project
