The Safety Manager will lead and manage Field Safety Coordinators across assigned operational areas, ensuring consistent execution of company safety programs, procedures, and expectations. This role provides guidance, coaching, and support to Field Safety Coordinators in their daily activities, including regular field visits, safety observations, and engagement with crews and field leadership. The Safety Manager partners with operations leadership to identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with OSHA 1910.269, OSHA construction standards, DOT requirements, and customer safety expectations. Key responsibilities include monitoring the effectiveness of field observations, assisting in the development and implementation of safety initiatives, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting storm response operations. The role also involves overseeing incident investigations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, reviewing root cause analyses and corrective actions, and analyzing incident trends. Additionally, the Safety Manager supports customer audits, regulatory inquiries, and maintains safety documentation and compliance. They will lead the development and mentorship of Field Safety Coordinators, establish performance expectations, assist with onboarding new team members, coordinate safety meetings, and promote consistency in field engagement and coaching. This leadership position requires providing direction and accountability for the safety team, building strong relationships with operations leadership and field personnel, and fostering teamwork and operational discipline. The goal is to maintain strong field engagement, reduce incident frequency, improve the quality of safety processes, strengthen accountability, and support continuous improvement in safety culture and operational performance.
