About The Position

The Safety Manager will serve as the primary EHS resource supporting an active electrical manufacturing facility undergoing continuous construction and renovation while production operations remain live. This role requires hands-on safety leadership to manage the interaction between construction activities and ongoing manufacturing processes. The position will focus on maintaining OSHA compliance, minimizing risk, and ensuring safe work practices across multiple workstreams, including contractors, trades, and plant personnel. The Safety Manager will be visible on the floor, actively identifying hazards, enforcing safety standards, and supporting both short-term construction tasks and long-term facility upgrades.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of safety management experience
  • Experience supporting active manufacturing facilities
  • Experience working in clean room environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 and OSHA 1910 regulations
  • Local to the Cleveland, OH area (no per diem available)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable supporting concurrent construction and production activities
  • Availability for 40-50 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site safety for construction, renovation, and manufacturing operations
  • Enforce OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards across all site activities
  • Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and inspections
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Lead safety orientations and toolbox talks for contractors and employees
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and plant leadership
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
