Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety profession in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents.
  • Knowledge of governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles, with the ability to apply to workplace environments.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Understanding of occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic principles.
  • Knowledge of workers compensation laws and regulations.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations & manufacturing processes.
  • Team leadership experience in a collaborative working environment.
  • Proven history of delivering sustainable safety improvements.
  • Experience working with collective bargaining units.
  • Masters degree in a Science or Business Administration discipline.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction.
  • Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Establish and manage processes for periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action assurance.
  • Lead a team of safety, ergonomic and occupational health professionals.
