About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with an active CHST certification to provide full-time, on-site safety oversight for a mechanical construction project located on the Meta campus in New Albany, Ohio. The project involves supporting a mechanical contractor performing piping installation within two office buildings. The Safety Manager will maintain a consistent field presence, monitor active work areas, identify and correct unsafe conditions, and ensure that mechanical and piping activities are completed in accordance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and company standards. This position requires a proactive safety professional who can communicate effectively with project leadership, supervisors, subcontractors, and craft personnel while maintaining strong accountability in a fast-paced, multi-trade construction environment.

Requirements

  • Active CHST, Construction Health and Safety Technician, certification required
  • Previous construction safety experience in active field environments
  • Experience supporting mechanical, piping, or similar trade activities
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and hazard-recognition practices
  • Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week
  • Reliable transportation to and from the project site
  • Strong communication, documentation, and field-leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, subcontractors, and craft personnel

Responsibilities

  • Enforce site-specific safety plans, policies, and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor piping installation and mechanical construction activities
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee safety orientations
  • Verify contractor and trade compliance with established safety procedures
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe work observations
  • Complete incident reports and corrective-action documentation
  • Maintain inspection records, safety logs, and required project documentation
  • Collaborate with project leadership to address emerging risks and prevent incidents
  • Promote a positive and accountable safety culture throughout the project
