Safety Manager - Lancaster, OH
About The Position
Sheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support an electrical subcontractor on a new data center construction project in Lancaster, OH. This is a strong opportunity for a safety professional with electrical construction experience who is comfortable being highly visible in the field, working closely with supervision, and helping drive safe execution on a fast-moving, high-hour construction site. The Safety Manager will provide day-to-day jobsite safety leadership, support OSHA and site-specific compliance, identify and correct hazards, and partner with field teams to keep work moving safely and efficiently. In this role, you will support electrical construction operations by maintaining a strong field presence, reinforcing safe work practices, and helping project teams stay aligned with safety expectations.
Requirements
- OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 required
- 8+ years of safety experience
- Construction safety background supporting active jobsite operations
- Experience working around electrical subcontractor scopes
- Strong field auditing, hazard recognition, and documentation skills
- Ability to work on-site in Lancaster, OH
- Ability to support 50 to 60 hours per week
- Availability for an 8+ month assignment
- Field-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a high-accountability construction environment
- Understands how to identify risk before it becomes an issue, communicate effectively with crews, and support safe production without slowing the project down unnecessarily
- Experience with Construction safety management
- Experience with OSHA compliance
- Experience with Electrical construction safety awareness
- Experience with Hazard recognition
- Experience with Field inspections and audits
- Experience with Incident documentation
- Experience with Corrective action tracking
- Experience with Toolbox talks and safety communication
- Experience with Risk mitigation in active construction environments
Nice To Haves
- BCSP certification preferred
- Data center, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction experience preferred
- Experience supporting electrical contractors or complex MEP scopes highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily safety activities for electrical construction scopes
- Conducting jobsite inspections, observations, and safety audits
- Identifying hazards and partnering with field leadership on corrective actions
- Supporting compliance with OSHA standards, site procedures, and contractor requirements
- Leading or assisting with orientations, toolbox talks, and daily safety communications
- Monitoring high-risk activities and providing proactive field support
- Maintaining accurate safety documentation, reports, and incident records
- Supporting incident response, investigations, and follow-up actions as needed
- Collaborating with project management, supervisors, and crews to reinforce a strong safety culture
