About The Position
Traylor Industrial LLC is seeking a Safety Manager, referred to in the description as the Project HSE Manager. The role assists with developing, implementing, training on, and monitoring the Project Specific HSE Plan and Programs, in coordination with the Project Management team and Superintendent. The position manages project safety personnel, incident and injury response, safety training and records, workers’ compensation, site inspections, and other project-specific health, safety, and environmental programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health (OSH) or a related field.
- 5–10 years of underground construction experience.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification, or obtain it within the first year.
- OSHA 30-hour course in Construction Safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage Project Safety Supervisors and Safety Field Coordinators.
- Manage incidents and injuries.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and administering the Project Specific HSE Plan, programs, and training.
- Coordinate with corporate management, the HSE Director, and the Project Management team.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations to the Project Site Management team and site HSE professionals.
- Conduct supervisory and e-learning training for front-line supervision.
- Manage project safety training records and information for the HSE Manual, HSEOPs, SWPs, and other site-specific training modules.
- Manage and monitor the Project Site Workers’ Compensation program.
- Verify completion and execution of the SWPPP and CHA with the Project team before site mobilization.
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with safety-related concerns or issues.
- Assist the project site team with implementing the Project Specific HSE Plan.
- Conduct weekly formal HSE inspections.
- Conduct daily JHA audits.
- Manage the Origami system.
- Assist the Site Manager or Superintendent with project-related incident investigations and reports.
- Implement and monitor the project site Behavior Based Observation program.
- Manage and monitor project site first-aid cases and related record keeping.
