About The Position

HazTek is seeking an experienced Safety Manager in Cambridge MA to support operations at a high-profile operational facility. This position is responsible for driving OSHA compliance, conducting site audits, issuing permits, and ensuring subcontractors are executing work safely and in accordance with project requirements. This role will oversee day-to-day safety operations within an active commercial/life sciences environment while partnering closely with project teams and subcontractors. Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of direct construction safety experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills required

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 510 highly preferred
  • Experience overseeing subcontractors in commercial or life sciences environments preferred
  • CHST, CSP, or additional BCSP certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of project safety ensuring OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, audits, and inspections
  • Issue and manage permits related to high-risk work activities
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
  • Complete accident reports and conduct incident investigations
  • Monitor critical risk activities including Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
  • Partner with project management and field leadership to promote proactive safety practices
