The Safety Manager will establish and promote a healthy and safe work environment. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety management systems, emphasizing accountability around safety policies and decisions. The Safety Manager will aid in the development and implementation of divisional and corporate safety strategy across multiple locations, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping and document management. This position leads the development, review, and implementation of site emergency programs, interfaces with regulatory and public sector agencies, and leads, supports, and guides facility safety committees. The role involves conducting regular reviews with site leadership, prioritizing issues, and participating in industry and professional interest groups to stay current on best practices. The Safety Manager will ensure all personnel are properly trained in both OSHA and Company required safety programs, assist line and staff management in understanding OSHA regulations and standards, and conduct regular plant safety audits. This role requires spending time on the production floor to observe workforce behaviors, investigate injuries, review accident statistics, and establish accident prevention and cost-control objectives. The Safety Manager will stay apprised of developments in safety laws and regulations and act as a plant liaison with government agencies on safety and health matters. Bilingual in Spanish is required for this position.
