About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the EHS program within their assigned region. This role is a cultural catalyst, working to influence the direction of Safety and Quality Programs while ensuring field operations strictly adhere to training, policies, and regulatory protocols. The Safety Manager ensures all systems are compliant with legislative, customer, and Superheat-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Federal and State safety and health laws.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data tracking and presentation.
  • Ability to articulate complex safety objectives and the corporate safety message to diverse audiences.
  • High level of professional judgement, the ability to manage confidential information, and proficiency in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and stay alert in safety-sensitive environments.
  • At least 5 years in construction, nuclear, power plant, or similar industrial environments.
  • Proven experience in a safety-related role involving direct field supervision.
  • Post-secondary education or certification in a related field.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and the ability to acquire site access badging.

Nice To Haves

  • A recognized Safety Professional Certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, or CRSP) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full adherence to internal company safety program and region-specific OH&S Federal and State regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of Superheat shops and client jobsites to confirm compliance; perform internal audits and address any outstanding findings.
  • Manage and facilitate health and safety orientation and training programs for all regional personnel.
  • Lead investigations into all safety incidents, identify root causes, and submit comprehensive reports.
  • Continuously monitor regional safety trends and statistics; analyze results to suggest and implement data-driven improvement programs.
  • Work with the Contracts Department on bid packages and act as a point of contact for external agencies like the Department of Labor and Worker’s Compensation.
  • Review and update safety manuals and policies annually to reflect new legislation or operational changes.
