About The Position

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager in North Haven, CT. This role involves monitoring safety and health performance, recommending improvements, coordinating training programs, maintaining safety records, and reporting on compliance. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for developing and updating specific safety programs such as the Emergency Plan, Hazardous Material Contingency Plan, Hazardous Waste Plan, LEI's, and Emission Plan, ensuring all objectives are met. Additionally, the position requires performing internal audits to evaluate plant compliance and staying knowledgeable about new industry safety practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and/or 5-10 years of safety management experience in an operations/manufacturing environment.
Ability to compile, format and present safety subject matter in front of large groups on a frequent basis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to effectively communicate and up, down and across the organization.
Knowledge/experience in industrial safety, health and/or environmental science.
Must be either a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant regulations.

Knowledge of process safety management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor the safety and health performance of the site and recommend priorities and actions for improvement.
Coordinate various safety training programs.
Maintain safety records within databases and periodically report on compliance cases.
Outline specific safety programs and coordinate, review, and update plans such as the plant's Emergency Plan, Hazardous Material Contingency Plan, Hazardous Waste Plan, LEI's, and Emission Plan, ensuring objectives are met.
Perform internal audits of S&ES activities to evaluate plant's compliance.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of new industry safety practices.
