About The Position

Join a mechanical and fire protection contractor supporting the construction of a Boeing aircraft hangar in Spartanburg, SC. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities involving mechanical systems installation, fire protection systems, elevated work, material handling, and daily construction operations on a high-profile aerospace project.

Requirements

  • CHST or CSP Certification
  • Mechanical construction safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Fire Protection System Installation Activities
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work Activities
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling & Rigging Operations
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Working knowledge of Safety Inspections, Observations, and Field Coaching
  • Working knowledge of Toolbox Talk Development and Delivery

Nice To Haves

  • Fire protection construction experience
  • Aerospace, aviation, or aircraft hangar construction experience
  • Industrial or manufacturing construction experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical and fire protection construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments
  • Provide field coaching and mentorship to supervisors and craft personnel
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing safety training initiatives
  • Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation as needed
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain accurate safety reports, inspections, observations, and compliance documentation
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project

Benefits

  • Per Diem: $125/Day
