About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Manager to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating safety initiatives across the organization, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a culture of safety excellence across multiple branch locations and construction job sites throughout the southwestern United States. The ideal candidate is an energetic, organized and disciplined self-starter with a strong background in construction safety and a proven ability to manage programs, train teams, and drive continuous improvement. Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
  • Experience with hazardous waste, air quality permits, and environmental compliance is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 25–35% within the southwestern U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening

Nice To Haves

  • CHST, CSP, GSP, or similar safety certification
  • Experience with SAMSARA or similar systems preferred
  • Familiarity with mobile apps and digital tools; video creation/editing is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and enhance safety programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct safety training on regulations, hazard recognition, and equipment use
  • Deliver construction safety and injury prevention training programs
  • Maintain and track employee training records and certifications
  • Perform field inspections of job sites, facilities, equipment, and work practices
  • Evaluate environmental conditions such as air quality, noise, ventilation, and lighting
  • Ensure availability and compliance of safety equipment and emergency resources
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, near-misses, and occupational illnesses
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze safety trends and data to improve performance
  • Identify workplace hazards and unsafe practices
  • Recommend and implement control measures to reduce risk
  • Manage hazard communication programs and safety initiatives
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans
  • Coordinate with fire, police, and medical services
  • Ensure readiness for emergency situations across the company
  • Support industrial hygiene programs (air monitoring, noise surveys, ventilation studies)
  • Monitor workplace conditions impacting employee health
  • Assist with hazardous materials management and environmental compliance
  • Manage and monitor Samsara for fleet and equipment tracking
