About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees at JW Nutritional LLC. This role involves conducting inspections, identifying hazards, developing and implementing safety policies, and providing training to minimize workplace injuries and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. The Safety Manager will collaborate with management, analyze incident reports, and support the safety committee to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to comply, interpret and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and work overtime on short notice.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Bachelors degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required.
  • Health and safety certification required.
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and requirements.
  • Three plus years of occupational health and safety experience in manufacturing environment required.

  • Knowledge of cGMPs preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Inspects and verifies company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Maintains accurate and current records in accordance with guidelines.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Inspects safety equipment; makes recommendations for enhancements, fixes or replacements.
  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
  • Monitors the removal of biological, physical or chemical hazards from the workplace.
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
  • Provides safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Advises the company's administrative team on safety issues and compliance on specific projects and operations.
  • Supports and adheres to company policies, procedures, and work-rules and ensures that department employees comply with policies, standards, and work-rules.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
