About The Position

The County Materials Family of Companies is seeking a Safety Intern to join their team in Stevens Point, WI. This role is designed for individuals who want to learn, grow, and contribute to a safety-focused culture. The intern will support the safety department in implementing and maintaining safety protocols, working closely with Operations and the safety team to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The primary objectives include administrative support and field exposure, with a focus on developing attention to detail, communication skills, and promoting a culture of safety.

Requirements

Current enrollment in safety-focused coursework.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in using basic office software and comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate safety records and assist with safety manuals, guidelines, and training materials.
Coordinate new-hire safety training, develop materials and presentations, and track employee participation.
Conduct safety inspections, work with Operations to address hazards, and assist with internal and external audits.
Assist in the investigation of incidents, gathering relevant information for reporting and analysis.
Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans by coordinating drills and exercises.
Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to team members and assist in promoting a culture of safety.
Compile and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement and generate reports for management.
Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and ensure the organization's compliance and assist in the preparation of regulatory reports.
