Requirements

4 year college degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline OR 2 years of safety related experience in an industrial environment
Demonstrated ability to lead, involve, and promote the participation of Teammates in Safety practices to maintain an injury-free workplace.
Ability to influence others.
Ability to be on call 24/7 and travel as required
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Experience as a safety or environmental coordinator
Safety/Emergency services certification
OSHA and VPP experience

Responsibilities

Promote and enhance the safety culture and mindset throughout the Wisconsin and Ohio teams.
Develop, implement, and maintain the divisions’ safety and environmental programs.
Lead training initiatives.
Ensure all records are accurately maintained.
Co-author safety/operating and environmental procedures.
Audit plant conditions and teammate actions.
Compile, analyze and report safety and environmental metrics.
Ensure the division is in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
Participate in corporate initiatives.
Work with outside auditors and government inspectors as necessary.
